Welcome
The three tenets of faculty responsibility are teaching, research and service. Wayne State University offers research and academic development opportunities to support these three pillars, and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) offers these opportunities related to research. We collaborate with other units on campus that offer faculty development related to teaching, learning, technology and library resources. Together, our goal is to comprehensively provide support for faculty in their dynamic roles.
OVPR assembles a Research Handbook annually to provide a comprehensive document that outlines university resources available to Wayne State researchers. OVPR hosts Research Development seminars, trainings on grant writing, as well as on how to use COS.com to search for funding, to network with other experts and to search for conferences in which to present papers. We assist in organizing content-specialized seminars, such as the Water@Wayne seminar series and many others.
If you have suggestions on topics for the OVPR seminar series or other faculty development needs related to research, please e-mail research@wayne.edu. We welcome your input!
